UNISDR, Associate Programme Officer – Disaster Risk Reduction (P-2), Geneva / Regional office

This position is financed by SDC.

Requirements

  • Strong interest in a career with the United Nations
  • Master’s degree
  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in project/programme management or related area required. UNISDR counts internships at 50%.
  • Experience in disaster risk reduction, climate change, or sustainable development goals desirable
  • Experience in the organization of large international meetings desirable
  • Fluency in English
  • Knowledge of a second UN language
  • Swiss nationality
  • Not older than 32 years at the date of the first round of interviews
  • Availability to start assignment on 1 October 2018 (or earlier)

PBSO, Associate Programme Officer in Peacebuilding Support (P-2), New York

This position is financed by UNIOD.

Requirements

  • Strong interest in a career with the United Nations
  • Master’s degree
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience at national or international level (relevant internships are counted as 50% work experience)
  • Ideally, at least 1 year of experience in project/programme and fund management, peace and peacebuilding analysis and identifying intervention strategies, international negotiations or strategic planning at the international level, as well as relevant experience in peacebuilding related work within the UN Secretariat
  • Knowledge of gender and youth issues and strategies an advantage
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
  • Spoken French fluency desirable
  • Passive knowledge of German and knowledge of another UN official language an advantage
  • Swiss nationality
  • Not older than 32 years at the date of the first round of interviews
