cinfo was established as a foundation in 1990 by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). cinfo supports SDC in its mandate to inform the Swiss public about professional opportunities in IC.
  • Preparing and disseminating information and specialist knowledge on conditions and developments in the international cooperation labour market, in particular in development cooperation, humanitarian aid, development policy, the promotion of peace as well as human rights policy.
  • Regular information and documentation for public occupational advisory services, the media and other agencies in Switzerland in the above areas, including the government, cantons, communities and the private sector.
  • Advising interested parties and clients on professional opportunities in the field of international cooperation.
  • Holding regular information conferences and courses for further education and training for interested individuals and organisations on the requirements on activities in the area of international cooperation.

cinfo and the SDC pursue the following goals together:

  1. Increasing the visibility of the sector, namely requirements and trends, in the Swiss labour market as a whole. Here, cinfo is developing as a networking platform for players in the Swiss labour market for international cooperation.
  2. Supporting professionals and their partners in shaping their careers in (Swiss) international cooperation or in international organisations.
  3. Supporting selected international organisations in their personnel marketing in Switzerland and, in the opposite direction, qualified Swiss candidates in the selection process of these organisations.
  4. Supporting professionals and their partners in the development of intercultural communication skills in the field of (Swiss) international cooperation before their departure and when changing jobs.
