At the heart of Ashoka is a strong belief that an innovative idea has the capacity to solve a global problem. Our founder, Bill Drayton founded Ashoka in 1980 based on the idea that the most powerful force for good in the world is a social entrepreneur who wields an innovative idea. Ashoka believes that we are living in a historic moment where anyone can create positive and meaningful change, this is embodied by the “everyone a changemaker” vision.
