Job context

Talent development is a priority area for Fondation Botnar. The foundation is therefore taking the initiative to create possibilities for young professionals to develop and to pursue careers in NGOs, government, international organisations or philanthropy. The programme aims at enabling young professionals to introduce new perspectives, innovation and expertise to their fields of work.

The Young Professionals Programme lasts for two years with:

  • one year spent with Fondation Botnar in Basel,
  • and up to one year with a partner(s) or related organisation(s) in the field.

Cities ecosystems fostering young people’s wellbeing (100%)

Specific responsibilities:

  • Supporting and contributing to the development of Fondation Botnar’s cities engagement Theory of Change 
  • Collaborating with external consultants and stakeholders
  • Collaboratively developing a program/initiative to be presented to the Fondation Botnar Board for funding
  • Administering and managing grants
  • Writing of case studies and blogs 
  • Attending (virtual) conferences and events 
  • Attending co-creation workshops
  • Identifying partnership opportunities
  • Supporting stakeholder analysis processes
  • Monitoring and documenting programmes and projects
  • Supporting the build up of the foundation cities programme network

Human Rights in the Digital Age (100%)

Specific responsibilities:

  • Supporting and contributing to the further development of Fondation Botnar’s position on human rights in the digital age
  • Co-authoring or authoring thought pieces and publications
  • Collaboratively developing a portfolio of projects to be funded by Fondation Botnar
  • Administering and managing grants
  • Collaborating with external stakeholders
  • Initiating new partnerships
  • Attending (virtual) conferences and events

Application and selection process

  • The preselection of suitable candidates will be carried out by cinfo, a partner in the Young Professionals Programme.
  • Interested and qualified candidates should submit their application (CV and motivation letter) online by 16 May 2021.
  • Candidates should be Swiss or have a valid work permit in Switzerland.
  • Their assignment will start in September.
