New JPO vacancy at IFAD for Swiss nationals

Currently, we have the following open position with the International Fund For Agricultural Development:

IFADInternational Fund for Agricultural Development : Associate Programme Officer (Agro-ecology) (JPOJunior Professional Officer , P-2) - Rome

This position is financed by SDCSwiss Agency for Development and Cooperation .
 

Requirements

  • Strong interest in a longer-term career with the United Nations
  • Master’s degree
  • At least 3 years of experience working on agro-ecological transformation towards sustainable agriculture and food systems, environment and/or climate and/or issues in the context of rural development (Internships are counted at 100% by IFAD.
  • Experience in projects promoting agroecology
  • Knowledge of international policy frameworks and conventions related to global environment, climate change and rural development
  • Experience in project design, implementation and supervision
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and oral
  • Knowledge of a second UN language
  • Swiss nationality
  • Not older than 32 years at the date of the first round of interviews

Duration

  • 2-3 year assignment (1 year renewable fixed-term contracts)

Start date

  • Please be aware that the recruitment process may take 3 to 6 months. You are expected to start your assignment within 3 months following notification of selection.
