New JPO vacancy at UNDRR for Swiss nationals

Currently, we have the following open position with the United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction:

UNDRR: Associate Programme Officer (Disaster Risk Reduction) (JPOJunior Professional Officer , P-2) – Geneva

This position is financed by SDCSwiss Agency for Development and Cooperation

Requirements

  • Strong interest in a longer-term career with the United Nations
  • Master’s degree
  • At least 3 years of relevant professional and progressively responsible work experience in project/programme management or related area
  • Experience in the organization of large international meetings is desirable
  • Experience in disaster risk reduction is desirable
  • Experience in the use of computers and proficiency in office software and packages, as well as good knowledge of and experience in handling web-based management systems
  • Fluency in English
  • Knowledge of a second UN language
  • Swiss nationality
  • Not older than 32 years at the date of the first round of interviews

Duration

  • 2-3 year assignment (1 year renewable fixed-term contracts).

Start date

  • Please be aware that the recruitment process may take 3 to 6 months. You are expected to start your assignment within 3 months following notification of selection.
