New JPO vacancy at UNICEF for Swiss nationals

Currently, we have the following open position with the Office of the United Nations Children's Fund.

UNICEFUnited Nations Children's Fund , Child Protection Officer (MRM) (P-2), New York

This position is financed by SDCSwiss Agency for Development and Cooperation .


  • Strong interest in a longer term career with the United Nations
  • Masters degree in international development, human rights, international law or social science field
  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in human rights documentation, child protection and/or other related areas at the international level required, some of which preferably were served in a developing country (UNICEF counts internships at 100% if relevant and paid)
  • Experience in program/project development & management, monitoring and reporting an asset
  • Background/familiarity with the Monitoring and Reporting Mechanism (MRM) as it related to Children in Armed Conflict an asset.
  • Strong drafting skills required
  • Flexibility required to travel to country offices for short-term missions required
  • Fluency in English
  • Knowledge of a second UN language
  • Swiss nationality
  • Not older than 32 years at the date of the first round of interviews


  • 2 year assignment (fixed-term contract)
