Pestalozzi Children's Foundation
(
PCF
)

"Let us build a world for children". A world in which we all treat each other with respect and appreciation; in which children are strong and thrive free and self-determined.

The projects of PCF aim to reach girls and boys excluded from equitable quality education due to their socio-economic, ethnic or linguistic background, gender, special needs, geographic area or conflict. In 12 countries of the regions Southeast Europe, East Africa, Southeast Asia and Central America, PCF conducts long-termed projects to provide access to inclusive and equitable quality education for over 250,000 vulnerable girls and boys per year.

Focusing on the following sustainable development goals (SDGs)

Quality Education
Gender Equality
Climate Action
Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions
Partnerships to achieve the Goals

How we work

Locally based systems and responsibilities are the key to sustainability. That is why all our projects focus on the local empowerment of the people. In each of the 12 project countries, PCF is represented by a Country Office employing up to 5 local staff and works closely together with 39 local Operational Partners. Activities conducted in Switzerland aim at increasing awareness on relevant topics in the field of inclusive and equitable quality education and development cooperation.

... and why

PCF believes that no child should be left behind. Access to quality and equal education is close to our hearts. We are convinced that projects can only thrive if they are supported by the community and if the opinions, concerns and needs of all those involved are considered. PCF envisions all girls and boys to be responsible members of their community, who contribute towards building a peaceful world.
