Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship

The Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship is a not-for-profit, independent and neutral organisation, founded in 1998, with the purpose of advancing social entrepreneurship and fostering social entrepreneurs as an important catalyst for societal innovation and progress. It provides unparalleled platforms at the regional and global level to highlight and advance leading models of sustainable social innovation. It identifies a select community of social entrepreneurs and engages them in shaping global, regional and industry agendas that improve the state of the world, in close collaboration with the other stakeholders of the World Economic Forum (WEF).

Working for the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship

The Foundation is operated by the World Economic Forum and employs five people. Vacancies are published through the WEF’s careers portal.

Sought profiles

The Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship has a network of over 250 social entrepreneurs. It selects 20-25 social entrepreneurs annually from a pool of applicants through a global “Social Entrepreneur of the Year” competition.

The criteria for selection into the Schwab Foundation Network include six dimensions.
