During an interactive webinar, HR directors of UNDP and UNICEF gave first-hand information on entry opportunities, sought profiles, and shared insights about working and growing in these organisations. Coordinated by cinfo on behalf of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDCSwiss Agency for Development and Cooperation ), the webinar’s objective is to attract more Swiss professionals, from mid- to senior level, to successfully apply to UNDP and UNICEF.
UNICEFUnited Nations Children's Fund : Eva Mennel, HR Director - Eva Mennel was appointed Director of UNICEF’s Division of Human Resources in 2015. Prior to that, she had been serving as Director, HR Client Services, of the World Bank Group in Washington, D.C. Before joining the World Bank Group, she spent 13 years with Union Bank of Switzerland (UBS) in Zurich, Switzerland.
UNDPUnited Nations Development Programme : David Bearfield, HR Director - David Bearfield (Sweden and UK) is Director of Human Resources at UNDP. He previously served as Director of the European Personnel Selection Office and held many positions within the European Commission and the UK Permanent Representation to the EU. Areas of expertise include the improvement and modernisation of complex, large-scale systems, processes, and procedures in HR.
UNVUN Volunteers : Manuel Brakaj, HR Associate - Manuel Brakaj works with United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme to maintain and further strengthen the UNV Global Talent Pool with high caliber candidates, in UNV areas of demand. Manuel believes that volunteerism and civic engagement are the two most important drivers for advancing the peace and development agenda. Manuel has worked for the UNDPUnited Nations Development Programme /UNV for the past 17 years in various capacities, including his experience as UNV Support Officer in Darfur, Sudan. Prior his current assignment, Manuel has worked as Recruiter for UNV programme providing shortlists of UNV candidates for some of the biggest peace-keeping missions such as UNAMA (UN Mission in Afghanistan), UNMISS (UN mission in South Sudan), and MONUSCO (UN mission in Congo). Manuel holds a Degree of Master of Science in Human Resource Management from University of Liverpool, UK.
