How we work

Action against Hunger's mission is to save lives by eradicating hunger through the prevention, detection, and treatment of malnutrition, in particular during and after emergency situations caused by conflicts and natural disasters. The priority is to have effective actions in the fields and testify about vulnerable populations. Since the reasons for hunger are many, the response is multi-sectoral based on solid expertise.

... and why

Hunger kills someone every 10 seconds and nearly 800 Million people in the world are going hungry. Eradicating hunger on a long-term basis and fighting efficiently against it, involves getting to the root causes: dysfunctional food systems, lack of access to water and sanitation infrastructures, inadequate health systems, conflicts, natural disasters, the effects of climatic change, status of the women, education, poverty and many more.
