Association CHS Alliance
(
CHS Alliance
)

The CHS Alliance is a global alliance of humanitarian and development organisations committed to making aid work better for people.

When organisations are more accountable to the people they serve, they deliver higher quality, more effective aid.
We advise, guide and train organisations to:
- Be accountable to affected people (AAP)
- Protect against sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment (PSEAH) and
- Better manage people.
The Core Humanitarian Standard provides the framework and we assist organisations to apply this standard, to verify performance against its nine commitments, and to improve over time.

Focusing on the following sustainable development goals (SDGs)

Partnerships to achieve the Goals

How we work

We provide training for organisations about the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS).
We develop guidance about good practices in the sector.
We support our members through their verification journey.
And through our policy and advocacy work, we contribute to influencing the whole sector about improving quality and accountability in aid programming.

... and why

We want people and communities vulnerable to risk of, and affected by, disaster, conflict, poverty or injustice, to have access and shape quality assistance and hold organisations accountable.
We aim at improving delivery of the CHS Commitments, at having a stronger CHS Alliance movement and a more accountable aid system.
