IFAD, Technical Analyst (Land Tenure) (P-2), Rome

Requirements

  • Strong interest in a longer-term career with the United Nations
  • Masters degree with specialization in a land governance-related field
  • At least 3 years’ progressively responsible professional experience in development initiatives, particularly in the context of human rights. 
  • Proven abilities in information analysis
  • Fluency in English with outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of another official IFAD/ILC language (Arabic, French or Spanish) is mandatory
  • Swiss nationality
  • Not older than 32 years at the date of the first round of interviews

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in law with preferably a post-graduate law degree (e.g. LLM) in a second jurisdiction.
  • At least 3 years, of relevant experience as a lawyer, ensuring familiarity with at least one of this area (insolvency and restructuring, access to finance, corporate governance, public procurement, public private partnerships, energy regulation, information and communication technology, and dispute resolution). EBRD counts internships at 100% rate
  • Experience in conducting legal research, drafting and negotiating legal documentation.
  • Excellent project management skills, ability to monitor and follow up on many activities concurrently under time constraints and ability to understand and manage priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and client focus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Fluency in an additional language, in particular Russian, French or Arabic, would be an asset.

  • Experience in funds management and accounting, including financial management systems
  • Good negotiating and problem-solving skills
  • Good numerical and analytical skills
  • Good communication and negotiation skills

This position is financed by the Human Security Division of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree preferably in political or social sciences, international law, international relations, public administration or economics or related area
  • At least three years of work experience in humanitarian affairs, emergency management, rehabilitation and development, international policy or advocacy, or other related areas. The UN Secretariat counts relevant internships at 50%.
  • Prior experience in humanitarian issues and / or international humanitarian law
  • Knowledge of the institutions of the UN system, familiarity with humanitarian principles and practice.
  • Fluent in English and French, with good knowledge of two Swiss national languages
  • Knowledge of other UN official languages is desirable
  • Swiss nationality
  • Valid driving license
  • Not older than 32 years at the date of the first round of interviews
