Currently, we have the following open position with the United Nations Executive Office of the Secretary-General:

UN Executive Office of the Secretary-General: Associate Programme Management Officer (Sustainable Development) (JPOJunior Professional Officer , P-2) - New York

This position is financed by SDCSwiss Agency for Development and Cooperation


  • Strong interest in a longer-term career with the United Nations
  • Master’s degree
  • At least 3 years of relevant professional work experience with international development, including in the intergovernmental domain, is required. The UN Secretariat counts internships at 50%.
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Knowledge of analytics tools
  • Experience in strategy design, management consulting, analytics, applied research and reporting is desirable.
  • Specific experience in inter-agency coordination and/or international organizations is desirable.
  • Fluency in English
  • Knowledge of French and/or Spanish is desirable
  • Swiss nationality
  • Not older than 32 years at the date of the first round of interviews


  • 2-3 year assignment (1 year renewable fixed-term contracts). Re-assignment to a different duty station may be an option in year 3.

  • Please be aware that the recruitment process may take 3 to 6 months. You are expected to start your assignment within 3 months following notification of selection.
