New JPO vacancy at UN OSESG for Swiss nationals

Currently, we have the following open position with the Office of the Special Envoy for the Great Lakes:

UN OSESG: Associate Political Affairs Officer (JPOJunior Professional Officer , P2) – Nairobi

This position is financed by the Human Security Division of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs.

Requirements:

  • Swiss nationality
  • Younger than 33 years at the date of the first round of interviews (5 December 2019)
  • Master’s degree in political science, international relations, international economics, law, public administration or related field
  • At least three years of relevant professional experience in political science, international relations, law, conflict resolution or related area. The UN Secretariat counts relevant internships at 50% (not full-time)
  • Experience in political outreach, facilitation, analysis, advice and reporting.
  • Experience working in a conflict or post-conflict setting is an advantage
  • Fluent in English and French
  • Good knowledge of two Swiss national languages
  • Valid driving license

Duration:

  • 1-2 year assignment (1 year renewable fixed-term contracts)
