Swiss Re Foundation

Together with our partners and Swiss Re employees, we support efforts to strengthen societal resilience in countries where we operate and in targeted developing regions.

To help build resilient societies, we offer our partners tailored grant financing, access to expertise, as well as research and capacity building and collaborative networks to create measurable, lasting impacts at scale.

Our two focus areas, Natural Hazards and Climate Risk Management and Access to Health, allow us to concentrate our efforts and increase our impact.

We believe in evidence-based approaches, track the results of our projects and generate evidence to guide our future strategy.

Focusing on the following sustainable development goals (SDGs)

No Poverty
Good Health and Well-being
Gender Equality
Responsible Consumption and Production
Climate Action
Life Below Water
Life on Land
Partnerships to achieve the Goals

How we work

We aim to make a measurable and sustainable difference. We support our partners not only through grant funding, but also by giving them access to the broad expertise of Swiss Re’s employees and allowing them to learn, prototype and scale effective solutions.

Our strategic commitments aim to help realise the UN's SDG's, to foster resilient societies and to complement our overall sustainability objectives.

... and why

Our vision is to help societies develop their capacity to mitigate health, environmental and economic risks as well as to recover quickly from setbacks. In other words, we play a role in strengthening the resilience of communities and their ability to survive and thrive in the face of resource stresses, societal adversity and natural disasters.
