Terre des hommes (Tdh) is the leading Swiss organisation for children’s aid. Since 1960, Tdh has helped build a better future for vulnerable children and their communities, making an impact with innovative and sustainable solutions. Each year, we provide assistance to over four million children and members of their communities in around 40 countries through our health, protection and emergency relief programmes.

Working for Terre des hommes

In 2019, the Terre des hommes Foundation employed around 150 people in Switzerland and 110 abroad with a Swiss employment contract. More than 2,000 employees have been hired by Terre des hommes Foundation delegations in projects abroad.

Sought profiles

Tdh regularly searches for the following profiles:

  • Field positions (minimum 3 years’ professional experience): administrative and financial coordinators; logistics officers; heads of delegation and assistants; emergency coordinators (5 years’ professional experience required); thematic specialists in the fields of youth, health, water and sanitation, migration and access to justice.
  • Headquarter positions (minimum 3 years’ professional experience): management, accounting, human resource and administration specialists; programme officers and managers; specialists in humanitarian issues (5 years professional experience required); communication and fundraising.

Opportunities for students and young professionals

Terre des hommes offers 2-5 positions for six months for junior professionals in different areas at the headquarters or in the field. Candidates must be between 25 and 28 years old, have completed a master’s degree and have some initial IC experience. Unsolicited applications are accepted.

The organisation also offers 6 six to twelve months long internships at the headquarters in the areas of operations and communication & fundraising.
