UN Youth Volunteers Programme - Intake 2019

Qualified Swiss graduates are invited to submit applications for the annual UN Youth Volunteers Programme. The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and the Human Security Division of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs are financing 20 positions within this programme. It aims to give young people with little professional experience an insight into the work of the United Nations at field level and to impact development results on the ground.

Conditions and requirements

Selected candidates will spend one year in a priority country of SDCSwiss Agency for Development and Cooperation or HSDHuman Security Division of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs working for a United Nations host agency. UN Youth Volunteers receive a basic living allowance that allows the volunteer to live healthily and safely in the assigned area. The assignments will start in February / March 2019.

Recruitment process

The recruitment process takes around three months. Interviews are carried out by cinfo and take place between 1 and 10 October 2018. The final selection is done by the UN agencies. Selected candidates will be informed by the end of November and are expected to start their assignments in February / March 2019.
