Enfants du Monde

Enfants du Monde is founded in 1967 and based in Geneva. For more than 50 years it has been promoting the education & health of disadvantaged children, mothers and pregnant women.

We provide basic education for children focusing on the quality of teaching and the development of the student’s autonomy. We facilitate access to health services and improve the quality of care for the benefit of pregnant women, mothers and babies through the active engagement of the local population.

How we work

The organisation operates in some of Africa, Asia and Latin America's poorest countries to bring access to a quality education and maternal and child health services to the most disadvantaged. Our Swiss NGO also contributes to implementing and respecting the rights of children across the world with a sustainable development perspective.

Enfants du Monde employs about 20 experts at its Swiss head office and has 3 regional coordination offices in Bangladesh, Burkina Faso and Guatemala, as well as an office for the programme in Chad.

Every year, our Swiss NGO Enfants du Monde helps more than 830,000 children, pregnant women, mothers and babies in some of the world’s poorest countries (data for 2020) such as for example Burkina Faso, Guatemala, Bangladesh, Niger, Chad, or Masagascar. These are vulnerable populations living in highly precarious circumstances, often in rural areas. The mission of our international NGO is to help and protect them in the long term.

Because we believe that the economic development of a country cannot happen without quality education and a population in good health, our humanitarian association supports local and regional projects that enable access to these services for disadvantaged children and mothers.
