New JPO vacancy at UNOAU for Swiss nationals

Currently, we have the following open position with the United Nations Office to the African Union.

UNOAU: Associate Human Rights Officer (P-2) - Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

This position is financed by HSDHuman Security Division of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs .


  • Swiss nationality
  • Younger than 33 years at the date of the first round of interviews (11-12 March 2020)
  • Master’s degree in law, political science, international relations, human rights or related field
  • At least three years of relevant professional experience in human rights, international affairs or related area
  • Human rights experience acquired in a conflict/post-conflict environment
  • Fluent in English
  • Good knowledge of two Swiss national languages


  • 1 year (with possible extension for another year)

Start date:

  • Please be aware that the recruitment process may take 3 to 6 months. You are expected to start your assignment within 3 months following notification of selection.
