New JPO vacancy at WBG for Swiss nationals

Currently, we have the following open position at the World Bank Group:

WBGWorld Bank Group : Trade Policy Analyst (JPOJunior Professional Officer ) - Washington D.C.

This position is financed by SECOState Secretariat for Economic Affairs .


  • Master’s degree in Economics (PhD preferred) with a strong quantitative and computational background
  • At least 3 years, of working experience in trade policy analysis with a demonstrated record of independent analytical work. WBG counts internships at 100% rate.
  • Experience in regional integration topics and in particular, preferential trade agreements
  • Knowledge of the gravity model and its applications
  • Familiarity with databases such as Exporter Dynamics Database, Content of Deep Agreements Database, and international input-output tables (TiVA/WIOD)
  • Capacity to harmonize, synthetize information and do analysis based on large and multidimensional datasets
  • Strong organizational, research, and oral presentation skills
  • Proficiency in STATA, R, Excel, Powerpoint, and ability to produce clear and informative graphs and tables to present results from statistical analysis
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English with the ability to translate complex research findings into policy relevant language
  • Swiss nationality
  • Not older than 32 years at the date of the first round of interviews


  • 2 year assignment (fixed-term contract)
