IFAD, Technical Analyst (Land Tenure) (P-2), Rome

Requirements

  • Strong interest in a longer-term career with the United Nations
  • Masters degree with specialization in a land governance-related field
  • At least 3 years’ progressively responsible professional experience in development initiatives, particularly in the context of human rights. 
  • Proven abilities in information analysis
  • Fluency in English with outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of another official IFAD/ILC language (Arabic, French or Spanish) is mandatory
  • Swiss nationality
  • Not older than 32 years at the date of the first round of interviews

Duration

2 to 3-year assignment (fixed-term contract)

UNOCT, Associate Political Affairs Officer (P-2), New York

This position is financed by the Human Security Division of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in political science, international law, international relations or other relevant field
  • At least three years of work experience in international affairs or international policy making. The UN Secretariat counts relevant internships at 50%.
  • Proven experience in drafting policy papers, reports and summaries on counter-terrorism or political matters
  • Experience in conducting research and providing timely input on policy questions.
  • Good knowledge of United Nations and other counter-terrorism conventions, instruments and documents, in particular the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy and its four pillars.
  • Fluent in English, with good knowledge of two Swiss national languages
  • Knowledge of other UN official languages is desirable
  • Swiss nationality
  • Valid driving license
  • Not older than 32 years at the date of the first round of interviews
