EcoSolidar
EcoSolidar has been supporting local small-scale projects in Asia, Africa and Latin America since 1986.
We support projects initiated by the people themselves. Our work focuses on the following areas:
- Organic farming for food security
- Education and training for children and young people in need
- Empowerment and education of women affected by poverty and violence
- Peace-building and awareness-raising projects

How we work
Helping people to help themselves is at the heart of our commitment: We reject imposing foreign ideas and approaches. We believe that projects are best anchored when they are based on local knowledge and implemented by local people.
Our partners define the goal of the project and decide how to implement their ideas. This is what makes their projects sustainable.
By supporting social and political initiatives in Switzerland, we promote a caring and just society here and around the world.

Our aim is to build strong partnerships with the people involved in the projects. This means working together on a long-term basis, on an equal footing, through the good times and the hard times, addressing difficulties and finding solutions together.
We believe in the potential of small-scale local projects rooted in civil society, and our experience shows that they are worth supporting. That is why we always invest in the gradual development of projects and the strengthening of organisations.
