African Development Bank (AfDB)

The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group’s mission is to help reduce poverty, improve living conditions for Africans and mobilise resources for the continent’s economic and social development. With this objective in mind, the institution aims at assisting African countries – individually and collectively – in their efforts to achieve sustainable economic development and social progress.

Asian Development Bank (ADB)

The Asian Development Bank envisions a prosperous, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable Asia and the Pacific, while sustaining our efforts to eradicate extreme poverty in the region. We provide loans, technical assistance, grants, and equity investments to promote social and economic development.

Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB)

AIIB is a multilateral development bank whose mission is financing the Infrastructure for Tomorrow (I4t) – infrastructure with sustainability at its core. As an institution focused on developing Asia, but with members from all over the world, our investments in infrastructure and other productive sectors seek to foster sustainable economic development, create wealth and improve infrastructure connectivity.

European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)

The EBRD is a unique international financial institution supporting projects across three continents. Investing primarily in private sector clients whose needs cannot be fully met by the market, we promote entrepreneurship and foster transition towards open and sustainable market economies.

Green Climate Fund (GCF)

GCF is a new global fund created to support the efforts of developing countries to respond to the challenge of climate change. GCF helps developing countries limit or reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to climate change. It seeks to promote a paradigm shift to low-emission and climate-resilient development, taking into account the needs of nations that are particularly vulnerable to climate change impacts.

Inter-American Development Bank (IDB)

IDB is the largest source of development financing for Latin America and the Caribbean. Through financial and technical support for countries working to reduce poverty and inequality, we help improve health and education, and advance infrastructure. Our aim is to achieve development in a sustainable, climate-friendly way.

International Finance Corporation (IFC)

IFC is the largest global development institution focused on the private sector in developing countries. A member of the World Bank Group, we advance economic development and improve the lives of people by encouraging the growth of the private sector in developing countries.

International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD)

IFAD is an international financial institution and a United Nations specialised agency based in Rome. At IFAD, we invest in rural people, empowering them to increase their food security, improve the nutrition of their families and increase their incomes. We help them build resilience, expand their businesses and take charge of their own development.

Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS)

UNAIDS is leading the global effort to end AIDS as a public health threat by 2030 as part of the Sustainable Development Goals. UNAIDS has a vision of zero new HIV infections, zero discrimination and zero AIDS-related deaths, and a principle of leaving no one behind.

United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF)

UNICEF works in over 190 countries and territories to save children’s lives, to defend their rights, and to help them fulfil their potential, from early childhood through adolescence.

United Nations Development Coordination Office and Resident Coordinator system (UN DCO/RC)

The UN DCO serves as the secretariat for the UN Sustainable Development Group (UNSDG) – 34 agencies, funds and programmes working on development – at the regional and global levels. The RC system aims to bring together the different UN agencies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operational activities at the country level.

United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)

UNDP works in about 170 countries and territories, helping to eradicate poverty, reduce inequalities and exclusion, and build resilience so countries can sustain progress. As the UN’s development agency, UNDP plays a critical role in helping countries achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women)

UN Women is the United Nations entity dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women. A global champion for women and girls, UN Women was established to accelerate progress on meeting their needs worldwide.

United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR)

UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is a global organisation dedicated to saving lives, protecting rights and building a better future for refugees, forcibly displaced communities and stateless people.

United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA)

OCHA is the part of the United Nations Secretariat responsible for bringing together humanitarian actors to ensure a coherent response to emergencies. OCHA also ensures there is a framework within which each actor can contribute to the overall response effort.

United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA)
