The Society for Threatened Peoples is an independent voice for the cause of minorities and indigenous peoples.
We support local efforts to strengthen the human rights of minorities and indigenous peoples, and work both nationally and internationally with organisations and individuals who pursue similar goals.
Focusing on the following sustainable development goals (SDGs)
How we work
We investigate and document human rights violations against minorities and indigenous communities, and inform the public about them.
By means of effective campaigns and projects on an international, national and regional level, we call on governments, companies and other decision-makers to observe and respect the rights of minorities and indigenous peoples.
Together with those affected and the local civilian population, we develop solutions.
... and why
Our work is based on the certitude that human rights are universal. We strive for a noticeable improvement in the human rights of minorities and indigenous peoples.
We help to inform a sophisticated discourse pertaining to minorities and indigenous peoples on a political, societal and economic level.
We advocate the observance of the collective and individual human rights documented in international conventions.
