The UNDCO & RCS coordinate & align development activities at the country level to support sustainable development goals (SDGs) of the United Nations.
The Development Coordination Office (DCO) manages and oversees the Resident Coordinator system and serves as secretariat of the UN Sustainable Development Group (UNSDG). Its objective is to support the capacity, effectiveness and efficiency of Resident Coordinators and the UN development system as a whole in support of national efforts for sustainable development.
DCO supports 130 Resident Coordinators and 132 Resident Coordinator’s offices covering 162 countries and territories.

How we work
The UNSDG facilitates joint policy formation and decision-making, encourages programmatic cooperation and continually seeks management efficiencies within the UN development system. DCO helps to identify, collate, prioritize and follow-up on issues for discussion and decision, and prepares substantive documents and products in support of the UNSDG and its Core Group.
